Welcome to my blog


I’m Dawn. I became a certified Health Coach because I want to help other people who are struggling. If you feel stuck, I’ve been there. I get it.

First off, a little bit about me. I am a 30-something Asian-American living in Taiwan. I was raised in America and moved here to learn Chinese and teach English. I intended to stay here for 1 year, and have been here for almost 7 years now. Wow… time flies!!

I enjoy cooking, watching Netflix, seeing my students learn, moving my body, traveling to new places, a good book, and fun nights out with friends.

I struggled with my weight since I was a child, and moving to Taiwan gave me the chance I needed to get away from American diet culture. I was finally able to lose weight and maintain it. For the first time in my life. (More about that here.)

In this blog, I plan to share tips and tricks of how I reached my goals. I’ll provide my insights on things like… managing cravings, using habits to outwit willpower, and handling setbacks during your weight loss journey.

I also love to cook – so I’ll be posting my meal prep and recipe ideas!

If there’s one thing I strongly believe, it’s this: There is no right or wrong. You have to trust yourself enough to know what’s good for you – physically AND mentally (they don’t always go together!!!).
